Junior Combar

Junior Combar’s activities supplement the main Combar programme with events for junior barristers up to ten years’ call, focused on events which are particularly relevant for our members. We have a wide-ranging programme, from welcome drinks at the start of the legal year to seminars and workshops covering everything from advocacy training to wellbeing and parental leave.

For further information on Junior Combar and its activities, please contact the Chair of the Junior Combar Committee, Kira King, at Kira.King@xxiv.co.uk, or one of our Deputy Chairs, Patricia Burns (pburns@oeclaw.co.uk) and Philip Ahlquist (pja@fountaincourt.co.uk). Information is also available on our LinkedIn page and our Twitter account @JuniorCombar, which you can follow for regular updates on our events and activities.

Combar supports the Bar Council’s Young Barristers’ Committees’ International Grant Programme. This is a programme that supports junior barristers (of 7 years’ practice or less), who are in employed or self-employed practice, to participate in international events or conferences of their choice by providing them with financial support. Information on how to apply for a grant through Combar and on the eligibility criteria can be found here, as well as on the Bar Council’s website.
