Temple Bar Scholars

Combar has supported the Temple Bar Scholarship programme for over twenty years.  Its purpose is to strengthen ties between the English and American Bars, and is organised under the auspices of the American Inns of Court.  Every year the Scholars  spend a month in London. The scholars spend their first week being introduced to “Legal London,” attending the ceremonial opening of the legal year at Westminster Abbey, and meeting with various government officials and judges. There then follows two one-week placements at member sets of COMBAR. The final week of their scholarship is spent at the Supreme Court.  The Temple Bar Scholars are invited to become Honorary Overseas Members of Combar. Due to Covid, the programme was cancelled in 2020. The figures in brackets indicates the year they were participants of the programme.
